In keeping with our theme of reconciliation, we welcome visitors and participants, native and non-native alike.

This page provides information about local accommodations, services as well as some guidelines regarding expectations of visitors and participants. It will also include a map and directions to Dakota Wokiksuye Makoce (Land of Memories Park).

(Land of Memories Park):
Free camping is available in the park with drinking water, showers (sometimes hot) and sanitary facilities also available there. A dumping station for RV's is also available.

Local Accommodations:

For those who need more comfort than camping affords, the Mankato area offers hotels and motels to fit nearly every budget, all within minutes of the pow-wow grounds.

Directions to Land of Memories Park:


Coming into Mankato from the north

Cross over the Blue Earth River on 169/60 and proceed down the short incline. There is a sign on the right side of the road saying Land of Memories Campground with an arrow pointing to the right. Get in the right hand turn lane and turn right. Then take the first left. You will go up a small hill, over some railroad tracks and into the campground.


Coming into Mankato from the southwest

Entering Mankato from the southwest on 169/60 you need to go past the Highway 68 turnoff and continue on 169/60 down the hill for about half of a mile. You will see a sign for Land of Memories in the median with an arrow pointing left. There is a left hand turn lane at the bottom of the hill. After you make this turn take the first left, go up a small hill, over the railroad tracks and into the campground.
